When Tony first came up with
Techno-Impressionism it was a way to talk about the kind of art he was trying to create. He felt the "art" he was creating was very different, would change as the technology changed and would not be taken seriously. Over time his art has evolved into something quite real
In the beginning we didn't know if we should sell the idea of Techno-Impressionism or Tony Karp. It has become clear. You cannot separate them.
Tony Karp is Techno-Impressionism. I always felt being successful in selling your art or anything else for that matter was about how you felt about it. If you don't believe in yourself and what you are selling then nobody else will.
When I have a consulting assignment that involves an implementation, I start with the belief that it can be done. I usually get hired because the project is in trouble. Given they way things work in some large corporations success is not always a sure thing.
I sell the team the idea that we can get this done no matter how many road blocks we encounter. (There was the time that I was hired to be the project manager. The project was late and over budget. People's careers were on the line. What I found was two armed camps. The business one side, IT on the other. I never doubted for a moment that we could pull this one off. The problem was not the technology, it was definitely the people.)
I believe in the art that Tony creates. This blog is one of the ways I sell it. As you read think of us as standing together in a gallery looking at this work. Each post has a different image(s) so be sure and use the
