On Wednesday I hung Tony Karp's
Autumn exhibit at the Ginter Park Library in Richmond. It looks great.
Here's a catalog of the show. It feels really good to be back, to be focused on making
Tony Karp famous. Being an artist's muse is a wonderful thing.
The ImpressionismTony Karp's creativity is enormous. There we were standing in the train yard of the tiny little railroad in Pennsylvania. We'd just taken the hour train trip. We wandered among the trains like two little kids, awe struck by the size and power of these big steam engines. Remember we're two city kids who rarely got to see sights like this.
With these images Tony gives you the opportunity to experience the power, magic and awe he felt that day, standing among these beautiful trains. It's what makes him a great artist. The impressions of these mighty engines allow you share what he saw and felt.
The TechnoWhen I started this blog I used to post one picture for each entry. It was a function of my not knowing what to write rather than a scarcity of images from Tony Karp's wide ranging portfolio. It was also a function of the software tool that Tony wrote that we use to publish our images on the web. Our content management system has evolved and now it is easy to display multiple images on a page. It's yet another example of how Tony combines art and technology. It's
Techno-Impression. It is the future of art. Tony is way ahead of his time.
