This image of me really reflects how I feel. I am running in many directions, my emotions are running very high. Actually my emotions are always running high. It is just the way I am. It is a curse and a blessing. It also gives me lots of energy and drive but sometimes scares people. The other day I heard the classic complaint about the Hobbitt. "You are going to fast for some of us". It is what makes me a doer extraordinaire.
I decided that one way to make Tony famous was to make him the big fish in a little pond. So I am in the process of joining the local Rotary and I signed up to the be the secretary of the local business association.
In order to be effective these organizations need "skilled knowledge workers". They need to communicate in order to get volunteers. They need lists and they need to be able to track things and the progress of the projects they undertake. These are all things an experienced knowledge worker like me knows how to do. So now I am a volunteer.
It has yielded a little bit making it worth the effort for the moment. I was able to connect George Mason University with local business association. Now I have done something for the university. The outcome I am looking for is Tony's work is part of their permanent collection and hang it in the gallery in the Performing Arts Center they are building here in Prince William County. This may or may not work. It is worth a shot and certainly better than doing nothing.
The Rotary is helping my local town with it's "spring cleanup". Everybody wants to do these projects but nobody has time to devote to them. As a full-time artmuse I can do what I want and when I want. So I now am leading this project. I walked the town yesterday and guess what it is really clean. Makes you wonder what the game really is. There will a place to recycle electronics and this may bring people to town that day. This really has to become an environmental day, an energy conservation day, a stop global warming day. Talk about being behind the times.
In this area, everyone seems oblivious. There are a few people who realize we are in big trouble but they are few and far between. I will write more on this subject.
Thank you for reading my blog Tony wrote a great monitoring system called
Web-Scope that we use to monitor visitors and I can see a few people are coming to read my ravings.
Click here to read more about Web-Scope. We are still working on a comments feature. So for now if you want to comment click on the email me button.
