About this image Artists often create their images from the things they see around them. Tony certainly does that. When the pool is open I often swim and watch the sunset. Tony comes out to talk and often takes a picture of the weather vane over his studio.
This is one in a series.
.
Musings of a muse "The thick outlines and boundary free shapes melt and collide, while whirling, forceful lines speak of the individual's quest to come to terms with the inner turmoil of the psyche."
These weasel words are from a picture in a gallery that holds juried shows where the artist has to pay the gallery to enter. Nice how generic the words are. A nice way to make a living. Of course there is no politics involved with the jury and who you know. It makes for a very nice closed club.
The world is full of wonderful artists that can't get arrested. They probably don't have a muse and they themselves may not be skilled knowledge workers. But they have the web.
We are lucky because we have it all. We are skilled and Tony's art is very interesting. The more we show it, the more places we exhibit, the more people seem to like it. This is becoming a great feedback loop for us. It is not easy to stand up and say I am an artist and I have created a new genre, a new art movement. While Tony did this mostly on the web there was no face, no real person just his words and his art. That is beginning to change.
We have stopped playing the gallery game. We show our art everywhere. In silent auctions, in libraries, in local boutiques, in our home,
in our museum on the web
in the journal Tony did last year
and in this blog.
The art is in places where people go. It is a little bit like Rousseau. He sold his art locally to support himself and eventually made it into the big time. He is an inspiration for me.
