This is the forth installment in a series of posts I am writing for my yet unborn great grandchildren.
Great grandpa Tony was ahead of his time in terms of his art. This image was created using a method he called divisionism. The technology he used included different algorithms that highlighted the shapes as defined by the colors and tones. All this allowed your great grandfather Tony Karp to create these interesting images.
This started as a sketch of a real horse made using a digital camera. It's a horse that lived on the road about a mile from where we lived. We'd call to the horse as we passed the field he was grazing in. He used to look up and we would say hello. He had an interesting face.
It's spring of 2010. It seems truly glorious against the background of the long cold, snowy winter that just ended. Sitting on the porch and walking in the warmth of the sun feels delicious.
I'm writing today because it's an historic occasion. It's early afternoon and it's looking like we are going to get health care reform. (My fingers are crossed.) It is such an important issue because it will have a big impact on the amount of debt we pass on to future generations, your generation.
It is an extremely important step in terms of health care but also in terms of doing what is right for future generations, for the children.
I've been writing about the future and the children since 1993. I've come to understand how important the decisions the so called grown-ups make today impact future generations, your generation. But people don't seem to get it. Now into this mix comes the fact that there are too many people.
I used to implement big technology projects. If I described them now you would find them very primitive. This work taught me that a problem that 10 people are having becomes an entirely different problem when 10,000 people are experiencing it.
Let's frame the issue in terms of the lack of clean drinking water and how many millions of people this is effecting around the world. The lack of water causes people to move in order to survive. They may move to the city and now there is over-crowding and that means more disease and on and on. It is all made worse by the huge number of ever growing populations of the world.
So if health care reform passes it will be a wonderful sign our government can pass legislation that benefits present and future generations. That we can over come the money interests. Only time will tell. Just want to you know that your ancestors where aware and truly cared about the future. I hope as you read this that your future is bright.
