Being Tony Karp's muse is very interesting and challenging. It involves understanding and using technology.
Tony built the software used to generate this blog. Recently he added the ability to use a different color in the header of every post. We originally thought we would use it to categorize the posts but it has turned out to be something very different. We now match the dominant color in the image and it really enhances the picture.
Since this is a web page and it is HTML you have to express the color in Hex. How would a muse know what the hex value is?. So once again Tony made a tool. He found something called "Color Cop". You place the cursor over the image and it gives you the hex value. All I have to do is to paste it into the right field.
In the past Tony has made other tools for me. Before there was MS Project I used to make Gannt charts by hand. (This is a graphical way of showing tasks across a timeline.) It was very tedious. Tony watched me struggling to do this and then sat down and wrote Project Scope. It is a tool that made it very simple for me to create Gannt charts. I used to for many years on some very large projects that I managed.
What made it really special is that it was an anniversary present. The pull down menus say things like "I love you Hobbitt and Happy Anniversary Hobbitt". It is not every girl that gets bespoke software as a present.
What can I say. I am a very, very lucky muse.
