Techno-Impressionism has its genesis in photography. In that I mean it starts with the artist using his eye to capture a moment in time. For Tony it's a sketch. What happens next is an evolution (or if you don't believe in that) then a transformation, and/or just plain curiosity. No matter what you call it, it's a creative process at work. Check out the background in these images. That is the part that's changed until you get to the last one.
A key enabler is of course the ever advancing technology. The virtual tools that allow Tony to see the image a certain way and then share it with you.
Maybe he tries to visualize what the image will look like if some of that detail is removed. Creating art in world that is supported by virtual tools allows him to try many, many variations.
He has total control over the degree of removal. The ability to try the slider in different positions see the result and either continue or go back. If you are not used to using technology then think of the knobs on your range when you are cooking. You can make the flame higher or lower it. The difference is the food continues to cook it is just the rate at which it is cooking. Tony can uncook the food or cook it just a tiny little bit.
Why am I giving you all this technical blather? To enhance your appreciation of the Techno-Impressionism and Tony Karp the artist.
Remember, I am the world's foremost docent for the Techno-Impressionist Museum. But more than anything I want to make to feel comfortable with these images. Some of the them are very different and most people shy away from things they are not comfortable with.
Now go an have a nice long visit at the
Techno-Impressionist Museum.
