Here we are again at Mother's Day. My favorite line is "Don't pay attention to me today and think you can ignore me the rest of the year". But this year, given the economic situation, I bet a lot of people have turned to their mothers for help and support. It is what mothers are there for.
This year it's more important than ever for all mothers to be strong, and loving and caring. To be a beacon of hope for our children who may be facing uncertain times. To tell our children that they are doing good. That they will make it through this storm because they are not alone, they have us.
I went through lots of storms and am grateful that I could always turn to my mother for comfort, for a moment to heal, for a moment to catch my breath and be confident that when I returned to battle the storm that I would not only survive, but be better at the end.
I hold by mother and my grandma in my heart and I only have the sweet memory of their love, but it's almost as though they were here with me today. I would give anything to be able to hold them and give them a hug and a kiss and say I love you.
I dedicate this Mother's Day to my child. To tell him to take strength in knowing that his mother is here for him and to never underestimate the power of a mother's love.
