Last night after our children had gone home, (it was a glorious Thanksgiving celebration) we sat down and Tony went through his images. He sometimes does this so I can see the stuff he's been working on.
We came to these two images of scarecrows. They caught my eye and that's how they got to be in this post. When Tony took their picture they were standing in front of a house we passed during one of our many walks.
I'm hoping that some of my readers recognize this one as
Patternism. We define this technique as the combining of sub-patterns that are taken together to create an image. When viewing a work done in the Patternism style it is necessary to first take a very close look at the image to see the sub-patterns which themselves are made out of colors. The groups of colors form the sub-patterns.

There's no formal definition for this technique yet, it is pure
Square-ism. Well maybe not pure. If you look closely at the scarecrow on the right you see that the is too is made by combining sub-patterns.
I'll turn off the buzz word generator now and say here is some interesting
Techno-Impressionist art by Tony Karp. It does not have to be analyzed to be enjoyed. It's a delight for the eyes and food for the mind. Enjoy!
