Here is another example of
Patternism. The artist
Tony Karp says its "an orthogonally reticulated surface with isometrically defined areas." (Then he said, "After you finish typing this in, don't step in it.") In English this means look at the image up close and you will see that that it is made up of patterns. Then stand up and move back from the screen and you will see the image change. Pablo is actually a series.

I have been an activist for a long time. But until now my activism has been based on my belief in the issue I was involved in. Sort of the right and wrong of things as seen through my eyes.
Well now I found myself directly affected by one of these issues. Dominion Power, which is like Halliburton in that it builds infrastructure, wants to build a high very voltage transmission line to move energy produced from coal in West Virginia through Virginia to be used in the northeast.
Even though I am not a customer of theirs they sent me a letter threatening rolling blackouts. There was suddenly a shortage.
The power lines will come within a quarter of mile of my house. These things are usually not built in residential neighborhoods. I live in a rural crescent. New homes have to be built on at least 10 acres. It is really the country.
Nobody knows what the health risk is since transmission lines like this leak.
This is a very lovely area with rolling hills and horse farms. Part of the line is going to be right over a brand new Boy Scout camp, also near schools etc.
It will destroy the value of everyone's home and they will use eminent domain to seize property. The list goes on and on.
We are not short of power here and what we need to do is to conserve energy and use less power. What we really need to do is to fight
Global Warming. Somebody at a meeting on this issue still believes there is no global warming. Unbelievable.
It is the Enron game, southern style. Virginia has no energy policy, probably making it even easier for the money and power to come in and destroy the environment and peoples lives.
It is a chance for the muse and the artist to be manipulated up close and personal.
However we have done battle before with large corporations. We actually won. The first lesson is: don't play their game. And we won't. We used technology to help us the last time and we will use it again.
Here is what we say to Dominion Power
"Rolling black outs! BRING 'EM ON!"
