About this image
A version of this picture was posted as
Farwell to my friend Tove. I miss her and I keep my eye on her lovely daughter and beautiful little grandson. When I see him or a picture of him it brings tears to my eyes, he is so adorable. More than anything in the world Tove wanted to live to see her grandchild. We often talked about it. Tove is my hero. She accepted her fate and was so brave and eloquent at the end.
Tony recently reworked this image and it's now part of the front hallway gallery. This version leans more toward
Techno-Impressionism. The original was more fine art photography. All mumbo, jumbo aside, it is a lovely, interesting image, one you will want to look at often. That is the thing about Tony Karp's art, you find yourself looking at the picture again and again and never getting bored with it.
I am happy Tony printed this again, it is a wonderful tribute to a beautiful lady our friend Tove Solomon. Tony doesn't do editions because when he goes back to a work he always changes it, always seeing if he can make it better or more interesting.
Musings of a muse
If Tove were here today she and I would be talking about what is happening. We would be discussing it as it relates to our children. We would be worried about them and their future.
I would ask Tove if she read the article about how seniors have to stay in their homes and how the poor senior citizens retirement homes are suffering. One has to ask why it would take $500,000 up front to get into one of these places. Just another example of rampant excess. Parasites praying on the old.
I would tell her that I have always planned to stay in my home to the end. That it is not living when it takes several people to take care of you. Once you can't take care of yourself it is time to go.
I try to live my life to its fullest each and everyday. I enjoy staying current and being surrounded by the latest technology. I think that knowing how to use technology will be a great enabler when one is old. I am focused on the future, not for me but for the children. We have made an incredible mess out of the world. This old person is going to help in every way she can to turn the future bright. It's the least I can do for you darling Carina.
