In a perfect world, there's a perfect balance. In the world of Techno-Impressionism this picture is the perfect balance between technology and the impression of this iris.
Tony Karp the artist that created this image is the world's foremost techno-impressionist. You can see much of his work and writings
here at his Techno-Impressionist Museum . I'm Tony Karp's muse and surrounded by his work. Sometimes I am even asked "what do you think". What I think is this image is stunning. It is hanging in the gallery called our living room.
The iris has an interesting attribution. It comes from my next door neighbor's garden. She had too many iris growing and she gave me a few to plant. I was a city mouse for most of my life so it's a big deal when anything I plant in the gardens behind Tony's studio (it's also our house) actually grows.
It's pouring as I write this. We've had a tremendous amount of rain (2 inches in an hour last night). When the rain stops it will be the fourth time in two weeks that we've had to drain the pool. (When it gets too full the filter can't work).
But when I look at this image it makes my heart sing. If you were to ask me what is
Techno-Impressions this image would be my answer. The browns and grays behind the flower is a fence. Every small detail was in the original image, a perfectly lovely picture of the iris but not something like this that makes you stop and look. The image makes you want to ask questions. It looks like an iris but let me step closer and then step back to make sure.
It's an image that delights and at the same time makes you think, provides you with a visual exploration. And the exploration is possible because it does not change, does not move. It is your mind that sees different things each time you look at it.
