They were twins. Peter was born 15 minutes before Tony. They became friends late in their life. The first time we went to the Eiffel Tower Tony called Peter to share the moment with him. Peter was very sick by that time. They talked every day sometimes four or five times. They were very different and yet very much alike. The both were software developers, and shared the same political views. When Peter passed away it left a very big void for Tony.
Peter never got to see his fantastic grandson Noah and incredible granddaughter Ava. We try to take care of them for him. Peter's lovely, beautiful and wonderful daughter Jessica and her gentle and wise husband Jim are people Tony admires and adores. They came to visit us this past Thanksgiving. We had a blast and became known as the style cuties.
All this came to mind when Tony showed me these incredible pictures he had created. There are variations on a theme. It struck me that these two images would look fabulous hung side by side. And them I realized that these were really portraits of the brothers Karp - Tony and Peter.
These are two of the most powerful images Tony has ever created. And just like the twins they are similar and yet different.
