About this image
This image is hot off the printer. Yesterday Tony created this print and hung it in the living room gallery. It's noise. That's right -- all of these images are made from the noise that's buried deep inside a picture. It's an extreme enlargement, with each square representing just one pixel of the original image. You can see other variations on this theme at
Art and the Zen of Design where Tony blogs. You can also read a technical explanation how the image was created.
Musings of a muse
I watched Tony create this image. He turned to me and said "what if I made a picture using just the noise".
It was as though he had climbed into one of those submersibles that they use to explore the ocean floor. He dove deeper and deeper into the image. Finally he was looking at just a few pixels and then he really started to play.
The print is gorgeous. We had friends over for dinner last night and they were fascinated by it. The print holds much more detail than you can see on the screen.
At the top of this page there is a banner with a color that matches one of the colors in this image. I do this so you get an idea of what color frame or mat might look good with this image. It will be a conversation wherever you hang it.
