I am lucky in that I have had and still have some great friendships. Friendships that span the years. Some are active and growing, some are fading, some are new. For me the essence of a real friendship is that it is indestructible. It is people I am connected to and will always be connected to no matter the time or distance between us.

I lost a friend this past summer but I still feel connected to her. But the crown jewel of my friendships is the one I am building with my granddaughter. It defies description. It is beautiful and sweet and strong. And it is growing as she grows.
