About this painting
This is a water color painted by Arnold Wasserman. It's the opposite end of the spectrum from Tony Karp's work. There's no technology involved. It starts with a beautifully drawn sketch, is enhanced by the choice of colors and brought to life by the application of the paint to the canvas. Each step in the process involves many decisions and a great deal of thought.
I'm taken by the fabulous perspective. It makes me feel like as though I'm looking at the actual objects on a table and not a beautiful, soft and tender painting of them. When you study the picture you see how the colors enhance the perspective.
Musings of a muse
Arnold Wasserman is my little brother. He is actually older and bigger than me but I have always been an ardent supporter, fan and protector. I'm the street fighter, he's the gentle soul. Many years ago we were in business together.
He lives in San Diego and paints to please himself but finds a home for each piece he completes. He does not want to have a portfolio filled with paintings that nobody sees.
His home is filled with his beautiful work and whenever you look up your eyes are delighted by one of his works of art. He has his own muse - his beautiful wife and best friend Pamela Wasserman.
I'm a very lucky because I'm surrounded by such gifted artists, my best friend Tony Karp and my brother Arnold Wasserman.
