This image was taken in one of the beautiful churches in Rome. I chose it for my friend Tove who is quickly losing her battle with cancer. She is a highly educated person who loves art and music and poetry. Think good thoughts for Tove. I am holding her hand in our virtual pocket. Her grip is weak now.
I use technology to sell
Tony Karp's art.
Today was the final preparation for the
Prince William County Red Cross Gala. We have donated 20 prints for the silent auction. Here are some of the things we did to make this very short duration exhibit work.
A catalog of the exhibition items with an image of each item, the title, description, size and price in a Word doc. It was a table because it is difficult to put images into excel.
A PDF of this word file because it was too huge to email with all those images. We always use high quality images when ever they are presented.
Index cards with just the descriptions that were then laminated. We have found that if we explain what you are looking at people really warm up to them. I always say something about each image that I post. It is the same thing. I explain what you are looking at hoping to increase your understanding of the art.
We have used colored dots to cross reference the image with the price and the title. It is all very techie.I could go on but it is not that interesting. We have solved many of the problems related to selling the art. With this project we will have raised money for a good cause, gotten exposure and learned more about creating an exhibit.
This is definitely what the muse does to help her artist. Some gallery owners hesitate to deal with artists because they can be difficult and unresponsive when it comes to deadlines. No problem with Tony Karp because he has a full service muse to help him.
It remains to be seen if this will make Tony famous. You never know where these things come from so you have to keep trying.
