Being a full time twenty first century muse is starting to be a lot of fun. I am realizing that all the skills I use when I work as a consultant are applicable in the art muse business.
The idea of making Tony famous is actually a project. There is no "systems life cycle development methodology" to follow - thank goodness. That is what makes this fun. The page is blank and I can try lots of different things. I am doing whatever the spirit moves me to do. So here is a list of what the "project" has started in motion.
Exhibition at the Bull Run Regional Library
Exhibition in the Haymarket Town Hall
Exhibition at the Prince William County Red Cross Fund Raiser with all proceeds to go to the Red Cross
Exhibition at Bonnie Greer & CompanyThen there are the tools that I am using. I have done lots and lots of implementations and most involved helping a client integrate technology into a business process. That involves learning the technology in order to test and design and deliver training.
What I am doing now is the integration of technology into the art muse business.
Most of the blog posts are focused on explaining what you are looking at. The idea is to help you understand and appreciate Tony's work. In the business world this would be the training. Getting people to accept a new way of working or seeing is always a selling job.
Here's a list of some of the tools I am using
Illustrator - I use this to create some of the marketing materials such as hand outs and posters.
Paint Shop Pro - I use this to resize the images so they are suitable for publishing on a web page.
HTML - I use this to format some of the text in the blog.
Color Cop - I use this to select the color in the header of the post.Without realizing it, the art muse business is creating a nice little feedback loop for Tony and me. We are getting some attention. This makes us feel good. It motivates me and makes it easy to move the project forward. When I feel good, Tony feels good and he is inspired to make art. It is all very muse liked.
And probably, most importantly, is that when we feel good we are able to nurture our relationship. Tony and I have an unbelievable bond. It has been built over many, many years. It continues to grow. We are very lucky indeed.
