About this series
They're adding new utility poles on Little River Road - that's the road we live on. Tony has been watching the men working. If you've been to this site before you know by now that Tony is usually not content with the original image that was before his eyes.
You will also know that for Tony the starting point of his work is a photograph. It is his sketch. His media is all virtual except for the print. We hang his work as a modern day scroll. There is no frame, not mate to distract your eyes.
And there are times as now that you might be able to figure out what it is but having the hint that they are installing new utility poles will probably bring you to that ah ha moment when you say yes I can see what it is now.
He has made this into a series, not purposely but by continuing to play with the images and try different things. They have all turned out to be interesting and so this series was born.
Musings of a muse
If we are all about change these days then isn't it time for us the change what's happening in the art world. I read to today how the art market is now looking to the middle and far east. Hey guys how about looking here in America. How about recognizing
Tony Karp and
Techno Impressionism as the new art movement for the 21st century.
It is time to make some new contemporary artists famous. To give them a chance. Let's break the ole boy (or girl) network. Actually it's you who come to this site who can help create this change. Use your network to help make Tony famous. Link to this site or the
Techno-Impressionist Museum. Maybe you know a gallery owner, an art director or someone who works in a museum or someone on a board of directors.
Talk it up, help create a buzz. Make change happen in the art world. It is something else to focus. The world is going mad. Tony and I are so happy we have this art, this creative process to focus on. It's interesting, it's different. It's the future.
