It was 36 years ago today that Tony and I were married in the Rabbi's study in California. My cousin Wesley was there as was my best friend Mindy and here daughter Stacy.
We ran away to California to get married because the "wedding" started to get out of control and the only thing that mattered to us was getting married.
We had been living together for a while and had decided we wanted to have a child and that it was too complicated not to be married.
We are as they say "sole mates", "two peas in a pod", twins. We used to click our wedding rings together and say "wonder twins activate". (Actually we still do it.) That was a phrase from a popular cartoon show our son Scott used to watch.
We love to be silly together. We are old but in our heads we are not even teenagers. We hate rules and only follow them when it is less trouble to the "right thing". We are not rebellious for the sake of rebellion. We just follow our common sense, our instincts and Tony's photographic memory for whatever issue is before us.
Tony is brilliant, a real genius. He remembers everything he reads and he reads several hours everyday either on the web or in a book which is stored on his PDA.
Whatever achievements I have it is because Tony is always there at my side helping me.
When I got my first job a consulting company I made him get up and with at 4:00 AM. I was hysterical and lying on the floor in the living room crying. I had to meet with the client and did not know what to say. I had talked my way into the job because Tony and taught me all the right buzz words, but really I knew nothing.
In the next 2 hours he calmed me down, taught me what I needed to know and I met with the client and all went well.
In the 70's Tony wrote a high level language called "TLC". Yes is stands for tender, loving, care. TLC is what we are all about as a couple. There was a magazine called "Electronic Design" and the editor loved Tony's language. So Tony wrote an article. As we were driving home from meeting with the editor, Tony turned to me and said I am going to put your name on the article. I still remember the moment. He knew who much I wanted to be a somebody. I had been Scott's mommy exclusively for 3 years and I desperately need to expand my horizon. It was a gift I will treasure always. Now girls, that is true love.
I love you with all my heart and soul dearest artist. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the things that you have done for me. And mostly I thank you for loving me through all these wonderful years.
I have to go now. Tony is making our anniversary dinner while I am up here blogging. What more can I say.
I LOVE YOU!!!!!!
