About this image
This image is hanging in the downstairs powder room. People who've been to the studio have remarked
what a beautiful picture and they are right.
We're working on the exhibit for the Zeus Gallery Café in Richmond, Virginia that opens on Sunday, January 11th at 5:30. The show is called
Seamless Integration. Tony's entire body work known as
Techno-Impressionism uses the integration of art and technology as its foundation. What's interesting is that seamlessness (if that is truly a word) is in the eyes of the beholder. Kind of like communication is in the hearing, not the saying.
Picking out which images to put into the exhibit is an interesting challenge because while dinner is being served the lights are low. Tony's bought a new light meter and has been going around seeing how many foot candles each image gives off. The ones with the most light are what will make up the exhibit. I'm happy to report (I think) that when Tony tested me for foot candles, I didn't have any. Maybe I should be working on raising my foot candle output.
Musings of a muse
2009 will mark the third year Art Muse 2.0 has been publishing or you might say musing. Its been great fun. The blog is filled with many, many great images. When visitors come, it's nice to see that they look through multiple pages.
The pages show the images displayed in different ways, partly a function of the changes Tony makes to the software that we use for publishing our content.
Lately the muse has posted examples of possible exhibits - an interesting exercise This idea that a show has to have a theme is not best for Tony Karp's work. What makes him stand out is his range. Other artist's may be limited in their themes and mediums, but not Tony. The best exhibits are the ones where Tony has organized the work. A great example is the one-man show he had at the Waddell Art Gallery.
Take a look.We are still ahead of our time and still looking for our Peggy Guggenheim to make Tony Karp famous.
But we have hope and you should too. It is bad out there and I don't think we've seen the worst yet.
It's hope that will give us the strength to keep going, it's belief in ourselves and in what it means to be an American that will get us through. Look at how we have responded to the price of oil. It came way down didn't it. We did it, we stopped using so much. It is an example of our power.
Help everyone you know. Reach out to your friends and remind them you are there for them.
I have hope and I will be a volunteer at the inauguration. And after that if I can't find any work I will become a member of the Clean Energy Corps that will help to achieve the goal of energy independence.
Have hope - get involved.
