There are side benefits to Tony Karp's art, many of works are vivid markers for places we have traveled to, transitions in our lives, a history of the evolution of his work and
Techno-Impressionism.Yesterday he showed a friend of ours who is a writer and a poet something he is working on. Afterward as we talked she said it became clear to her that this is art not photography. She also confirmed for me what I had already knew, when people really look at Tony's work they truly appreciate it.
So here we are on the Appian Way in Rome. It's before we moved to Virginia, before the 30" monitor, many advances in technology and living in the country close to nature. It's a memory of a glorious sixteen days spent in this beautiful city, of feeling as though we lived there. It's one of those places where the sense of history is overwhelming. A vivid marker of a memory that will last forever.
